【課程簡介】
This course is an examination of the key figures and issues in Dutch Reformed history and theology after the Synod of Dort. Among the theologians to be considered are Herman Witsius, Gijsbertus Voetius, cocceius, Peter van Mastricht, Abraham Kuyper, Herman Bavinck, J.H. Bavinck, Herman Hoeksema, Klaas Schilder, and Herman Ridderbos. Attention will be given to the theological conflicts within the Dutch Reformed churches. We will explore the Dutch Reformed scholastics who wedded intellectual rigor with heart piety. We will examine the Dutch Further Reformation along with Dutch Pietism. We will trace the development of covenant theology and the controversies attached to it beginning with Herman Witsius and Cocceius and concluding with Hoeksema and Schilder. We will study the theological Liberalism that developed in the 18th and 19th centuries within the state church and the two reform movements that led to the establishment of the Afscheiding and Doleantie churches and their eventual union. Some of the key issues that will be considered include kingdom theology, the doctrine of the antithesis, the idea of common grace, the importance of a distinctively Reformed Christian education, and J.H. Bavinck's insights into the mission of the church.

布魯梅爾牧師（Rev. Nathan Brummel），加爾文學院哲學學士（1992年），威斯康辛大學哲學碩士（1994年），新教改革宗教會神學院道學碩士（1998年），加爾文神學院宣教學神學碩士（2005年）。現攻讀荷蘭坎朋（Kampen）改革宗教會神學大學神學博士。曾在房角石新教改革宗教會擔任主任牧師約10年（1999-2009），目前在聯合改革宗教會牧會。
